A new action sports travel company AdventureBASH has been launched. Aimed exclusively at  young professionals, the company offers group adventures, lively skiing trips, mountain biking events, sailing holidays and surf camps.

It has been set up by ex-Army lieutenant and West Sussex boy Monty Mavelian.  The seed was sewn when Monty got his soldiers to make their own fancy dress costumes out in the desert, in an effort to keep up morale in Afghanistan and where his business has come from.

Finding the perfect action sports holiday for a solo traveller or small groups can be challenging.  AdventureBASH’S Managing Director Monty shared this predicament:
“A few years ago, as a small group of friends, we were looking to book a ski holiday that specialised in bringing together young, professional people in their 20's & 30's. We didn't want the hardcore 18 - 30's scene, but also refused to be stuck in a chalet with a group of families, kids, 'past it' parents or cocky teenagers! After endlessly searching and finding nothing we created adventureBASH.   As fun active people we also began to realise that there was a need to create the same lively, fun sociable scene with other sports holidays such as sailing, mountain biking and surfing. ”

Some of the options offered by AdventureBASH include:
Ski BASH
Group Skiing, Après Ski, BBQ's - a great sociable week on the slopes.
AdventureBASH creates a tasteful, young and lively atmosphere, without the pressure of a typical large group tour holiday. Groups of friends and single skiers all coming together to create the most sociable weeks skiing in 2012.  This is a chance to enjoy a beautiful adult only chalet holiday with a laid back approach and ultimately with people like you.
Bike BASH
The Ultimate Sociable Group Mountain Bike Holiday in Slovenia.

Are you looking for some ‘Après Bike’? AdventureBASH replicate the same vibes, good food and evening entertainment which are offered in our ski trips. If you’ve ever wanted to join a group of mountain bikers and experience the same atmosphere as a skiing holiday but on two wheels, then this is the holiday for you.  Couples, singles and groups of friends all coming together for great riding, parties, BBQ's and some serious fun in the Julian Alps of Slovenia.
Sail BASH
Sun, Sea, Sand &Sailing around the Croatian Islands – it’s Sail BASH!
Island hopping, awesome beach parties, some excellent nightlife and group meals in beautiful seaside towns. Travel with friends and have your own yacht or solo travellers can join a crew. No tacky nightlife here, just tasteful lively party venues mixed with some amazing sailing!
Getting friends together for the same week can be exhausting, which is why adventureBASH has created  the 'Crew Match Maker’ which matches smaller groups and creates crew.
Surf BASH
Beach parties and cocktails after a day ripping up the surf in Lanzarote – an amazing week by the sea.
Learn to surf in the stunning warm waters of the Canary Islands. Our surf camps combine the amazing sport of surfing with a fun group of like-minded people. Beginners or advanced – it doesn’t matter. The aim of our surf BASH is to create the best active summer holiday for young professionals. Watch the sun set on our beach with a cold beer in your hand or join the group at the local beach bar in the evenings.
Monty Mavelian, Managing Director at AdventureBASH

Monty joined the army in 2002 initially serving in the Royal Artillery. In 2006 he was recommended to attend the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst , the best leadership training course in the world. He trained at the same time as Prince William and later commissioned in to the Royal Engineers as an Officer.  Monty passed P-Company, the gruelling and physically demanding selection course which is used to select soldiers to serve within the Airborne Forces and support the Parachute Regiment on operations.  After his jumps course he was awarded the coveted ‘wings’ and was asked to command a troop in 23 Engineer Regiment (Air Assault) which was part of 16 Air Assault Brigade.  In the summer of 2008 Monty saw active service in Afghanistan serving in the southern region of Helmand province supporting the Parachute Regiment. His final posting was in London on Public Duties where he had the privilege of guarding the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

After 8 years service in the British Army, the time had come to make that transition from soldier to civilian. He continued to serve his country by working for a specialist ex-military recruitment consultancy in the city, which helped ex-military personnel find their second careers. In 2010 as soon as he had gained some commercial experience under his belt, Monty decided to follow his dream of starting up his own business called AdventureBASH
