Applications for Crawley's Got Talent have been coming in thick and fast with almost 150 entries signed up for the auditions which begin on Saturday 22 October and continue at neighbourhoods across Crawley throughout the month.
The project, which aims to celebrate the diverse range of talent in Crawley and give local people of all ages the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, certainly seems to have captured the imaginations of local people. The judges are in for a treat with the variety of talents on offer ranging from singers and rappers to freestyle martial arts, street dance to belly dancing, live bands to acapella choirs plus circus skills, a Mick Jagger tribute and even gurning!
The audionees age range is also quite incredible with little ones taking to the stage alongside one entry who is over 90 years old. It just goes to show you are never too old or too young to get involved and if you have a talent it never leaves you.
All the performers are hoping to make it through to the final at The Hawth on Saturday 11 February 2012. They will then have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience for their chance to win a host of top prizes, including £500!
Gary Davies of Crawley Lions is delighted to be a sponsor of Crawley’s Got Talent “It’s very exciting to be involved in Crawley’s Got Talent. It’s great to have so many applicants and it just shows how much talent there is in Crawley. February is going to be a great time for talent in Crawley, so watch this space.”
