Indisputably the swankiest address in London, the St. James postcode is not somewhere I usually visit. However, given the nod that it housed one of the city’s most romantic hotels, I headed there just as fast as my short, stumpy legs would carry me in search of the perfect place to spend Valentine’s Night in London.
Sussex has plenty of excellent Indian or Thai restaurants, but an Indonesian gastronomic experience is harder to come by. Surprising, given that it is the world’s fourth most populated country and its scattering of over 17,500 islands lends itself to a great diversity in its cuisine.

I have stayed at some wonderful hotels over the years and I realise how lucky I am to be able to call this work. Often, I’m asked to write about bolt holes with an already thriving reputation that sees the punters coming back time and time again.
Fernand Point, the acclaimed restaurateur often hailed as the father of modern French cuisine, once remarked that If the divine creator has taken pains to give us delicious and exquisite things to eat, the least we can do is prepare them well and serve them with ceremony. That simple truth would seem to be the founding principle behind Zizzi Restaurant in Haywards Heath.

We’re regularly being told that due to our terrible economic climate people are spending less on eating out – dinner parties at home are as popular now as they were in the 70s.
