The film’s Oscar nomination brought to mind a trip to a little Parisian art-house cinema not so very long ago, which I thought I’d share.

In honour of the new friends I have made from South America, I felt it was necessary to produce one that was close to my friends hearts. I needed also to produce the cake at the right point in time, a way to show to my friends that not only was I producing a cake that was something that included my passions, but also to represent my friendship towards them. I have of course many different friends from one or more different countries based in South America but one new friend I have has really made an huge impression on me. My friends name is Lupita Sanchez,  she is from Mexico and is an amazing person, so full of life, laughter and humour that I knew the cake I was going to be producing would be Mexican.

Leter to the editor: Desecration of my fathers grave

Thursday, 26 January 2012 08:41 Editor

Dear Editor

I am a World War 2 baby, given birth by my late mother Mrs Enid Elizabeth Duncan, 1912 to 2000, at Chownsmead House, Chownsmead Lane, Haywards Heath, Sussex, on the 4th of May 1944. When my mother gave me birth she was in love with my late father Mrs David A.A.Duncan, an NCO in the British Home Guard attached to a searchlight and anti aircraft battery on Combesbury Farm, though then married for the second time to Major Stephen Charles Gundry Fox of the British Army overseas. So my birth and birth certificate got all jumbled up in order for faces to be saved and the stiff upper lip kept in place. As I grew up my memories of mother's second marriage to Stephen C.G. Fox were/are far from pleasant.
